Q: Can I treat my own live models?

You are welcome to bring along your own live models if you are attending in-class training, please advise us of this before bringing them along so that we don’t over book models for the training course. We would also need to ensure that your model is a good candidate for treatment as a model. Students taking our online Scalp Micropigmentation training course can work on live models within their own clinic once they have completed the course.

Q: Do you provide live models?

Yes we provide all live models for in-class training. On the days of training you simply need to bring along yourself and a notepad. Students taking our online Scalp Micropigmentation training course will be required to provide and treat their own live models in their own clinic space. Our trainers will assist and advise during each stage of the treatment process within our online training group.

Q: How many days of in class training are included in your training course?

Beginners Training 4 days Experienced Training 3 days

Q: I’ve seen other training providers offer more or less days of training, why do you offer 3 or 4?

We feel that 3 to 4 days in class gives us the perfect balance for training, any longer than this and people start to feel worn out, any less than this simply isn’t enough time for us to teach you all of the required skills. What’s more, after your in class training days, we continue training in our online support group which you have access to for life.

Q: Do you train tattoo artists and permanent make up artists?

Yes, we welcome trainees from these backgrounds who wish to add SMP to their services. For in-class training, you would be required to attend our 3 day Experienced training course which jumps right into SMP itself. To attend our experienced training course, a minimum of 6 months in tattooing or permanent make up would be required. We also offer online Scalp Micropigmentation training options to suit artists with PMU and Tattooing Experience.

Q: Do I need to have previous experience in tattooing to train?

No, we welcome trainees with no previous experience whatsoever and have tailored training to teach you everything from start to finish.

Q: How long have you been performing SMP?

Scalp Culture are one of the world’s longest serving SMP providers. In fact we entered the SMP industry in 2010 when just a handful of providers existed around the world and the industry was young. Q: What if my hair turns grey as I age?

If your hair was to turn grey later on in life, this would have no affect on your look after having Scalp Micropigmentation. Our pigments are specially formulated to settle into the scalp over time. This means that over the years, your SMP treatment will slowly become a lighter shade, whereas others may require a touch up to freshen or darken their SMP treatment, if your hair was to turn grey, you may never require a touch up session as you would simply allow the pigments to lighten naturally as your hair turns grey.
